East Lake High Hockey Wins 2nd Lightning Cup Championship

East Lake High School senior Austin Teall scored two goals, including the game-winner.

The East Lake Eagles are champs again. East Lake High School's hockey team won the Lightning Conference Cup on Wednesday evening for the second year in a row.

The team beat New Port Richey's Mitchell High School 3-1 at the Tampa Bay Times Forum.

East Lake Senior Austin Teall scored two goals, including the game-winner.

β€œIt’s a really, really excellent feeling,” Teall told the Tampa Bay Times.Β β€œIt’s indescribable to come out and play so well.”

Teall scored the winning goal with less than eight minutes left to play in the game. Β

East Lake joins Manatee High School as the second team to win the championship twice, the Times reported.
