Hospital Nurse Assaulted by East Lake Patient, Say Deputies

An East Lake man has been charged with battery after he allegedly hit a registered nurse at Countryside Hospital and told him, "I will kill you," authorities said.

According to affidavits, 54-year-old Manuel Arosemena was at the hospital being treated after suffering injuries from a fall when he became "irate" at the nurse. 

Arosemena, the affidavit states, used his right elbow to hit the nurse in the chest.

A deputy present said he saw Arosemena hit the victim again in the chest with both hands.

Jail records show Arosemena was released on his own recognizance after being charged with battery on an emergency medical care provider.
