Local Couple Shares Photography Expertise with Nature Lovers
Karl and Kathleen Nichter have turned their passion into action with free photography hikes at Brooker Creek Preserve in East Lake.
Since college, both Karl and Kathleen Nichter worked their way from semi-professional to professional photographer status while on the flip side, they were still maintaining full-time careers.
According to the Nichter's photography website, the couple enjoyed early retirment in 2008 and decided to take their passion for the camera to the next level.
They soon began teaching courses and leading hikes, like the free nature photography tour at Brooker Creek Preserve in East Lake.

Although they are a team at their core, Karl and Kathleen are working with vastly different genres of photography.
Karl masters shooting fine art, landscape and flowers while Kathleen perfects blog content with images to match as well as nature and travel images, according to the website.

Aside from teaching classes, leading hikes and shooting whenever they get the chance, Karl and Kathleen update two blogs regularly.
On Photography, Nature and Travel focuses on the couple's work in natural settings while Nichter PhotographyX-Tras highlights the team's black and white works.
Future plans for the couple include publishing a book of their photography and continuing to share their knowledge and experience with newcomers.
