Public Meeting Thursday About $2 Million Storm Drain Project in Tarpon Woods

Pinellas County representatives will be on hand to answer questions about a proposed $2 million drainage improvement construction project in East Lake's Tarpon Woods subdivision.

A proposed $2 million construction project could alleviate storm drain problems in East Lake's Tarpon Woods subdivision. Residents often have to deal with water on roadways, in the common areas and the community's golf course when there is heavy rainfall.Β

Construction is expected to begin in March and last for eight months, according to Pinellas County's Engineering Department.Β The construction will impact traffic on Tarpon Woods Boulevard between Brooker Creek and Brian Road North. A few side streets will be impacted as well, including Toniwood Lane, Patti Place and Brian Road North.

Pinellas County, the Council of North County Neighborhoods and the Tarpon Woods Action Committee will host an public information meeting about the project.Β It will be held in an open house format with representatives from Pinellas County, the design consultant firm and the construction company answering questions about the project.
