• Gulf Breeze redesigns busy intersection to protect students, adds safety features (weartv.com) — If you drive or walk near Nightingale and Fairpoint, expect a safer but changed intersection as Gulf Breeze removes turn lanes, widens pedestrian refuges, and shortens the school crosswalk. The city is also adding push-button flashing signs in a pilot program that could shape future crossings. Work should wrap up in about a week, improving safety for students and churchgoers alike. 
• Community reacts to proposed zones for Soundside High School in Santa Rosa County (weartv.com) — Families in Gulf Breeze should prepare for major changes to high school zoning as Santa Rosa County finalizes plans for the new Soundside High School between Gulf Breeze and Navarre. Three proposed maps would shift hundreds of students, ease overcrowding at Gulf Breeze High, and potentially change traffic patterns along Highway 98. Residents can weigh in at a public meeting on January 15.
