5 Things This Weekend: 5K, No Cleanup, New Play

There's a 5K Run & Walk, but the weekend cleanup is canceled.

Let's Run!: The second annual J. West Prostate Cancer 5K Run & Walk for Awareness is today in downtown Gulfport. Last minute registration is from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. at the Gulfport Casino Ballroom. The run and walk both begin at 8 a.m. Registration is $20 and $25. For more information check out the event's website.

Cleanup Canceled: The Gulfport Neighbors 58th St. Cleanup, originally scheduled for today, has been canceled due to conflict with another city event. The 58th Street cleanup will be rescheduled for a later date.

"The Curious Savage": The Gulfport Community Players present "The Curious Savage" now through Jan. 22nd. Tickets are $15 per person. Shows this weekend are on Saturday at 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. a the Catherine Hickman Theater.

Sunday, we'll also have patchy fog in the morning, likely before 8 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny with a high near 71. Calm wind becoming east southeast between 4 and 7 mph. Sunday night, it'll be partly cloudy with a low around 59 and an east northeast wind around 6 mph.
