5 Things to Know Today: Recycle Your Tree and City Hall Closed

Recycle Your Christmas Tree: Gulfport is offering a Christmas tree recycling program. Leave your tree out for curbside collection with yard waste on Wednesday. For more information, call 893-1089. If you want to drop off a tree, you can drop it off at the Pinellas County Solid Waste facility, 3095 114th Ave. N., St. Petersburg. The trees will be recycled into mulch to be given away free to the public.

Closed Today: Many local and county government offices are closed today to recognize the Christmas holiday: Gulfport City Hall, Gulfport Casino Ballroom, Gulfport Senior Center, Gulfport Public Library and Gulfport Chamber of Commerce.

Bark for Life: Mark your calendars for Gulfport’s first annual Bark for Life event on Saturday, Jan. 21st.
