WellSpring Oncology is seeking nominations for our Giving Tree family adoption this year. The families will receive a Christmas meal and gifts for under the tree. To make the holidays brighter, WellSpring hopes to involve and reach out to the local community.
“We’re seeking deserving families in our community to give them a little boost this year,” said Robert Miller, M.D., a Board-Certified Oncologist at WellSpring Oncology. “The Giving Tree fund has helped our patients with food, living expenses and other necessities. But now, we're looking to reach out into our community and help those around us.”
Deserving families can be nominated by calling the Holiday Helping Line at (727) 231-6980. “We want to hear from neighbors, teachers and loved ones about people who could use assistance during this time,” Miller says. The families will be selected by Monday, December 12. WellSpring Oncology will be delivering the holiday feast and gifts by just before the holidays.
“At WellSpring, we care about everyone who comes through our doors,” Miller says. “Our community is our family and we want to make everyone's day a little brighter by giving back.” WellSpring Oncology hosts several events throughout the year to raise money for Giving Tree, including the Catch for a Cure softball tournament, bingo and comedy nights. To date, the charitable fund has helped 29 patients during cancer treatment.
“Even if you don't know anyone who has fallen on hard times, you can still help!” Miller explains. WellSpring Oncology is accepting donations of all kinds, from food to clothes to toys at their location on 6600 Sixty Sixth Street, Pinellas Park, Fla. No donation is too small to make a big impact on the holidays.
Join WellSpring Oncology in making the holidays more special for someone in need. Nominate a family or donate to the Holiday Helpers drive this December.
