A Gulfport man driving with a suspended license told police he was not trying to get away, when he failed to stop for an officer.

A Gulfport motorist driving with a suspended license allegedly told police that he was not trying to get away, when he failed to stop his car for a Gulfport police cruiser with its siren blaring.
Zachary Bell,47, told police Wednesday that he did not hear the police siren, as the officer followed his vehicle for several blocks in Gulfport. His vehicle's exhaust system was too loud.
According to the Gulfport Police Department, Bell faces charges of driving with a suspended license (felony) and fleeing and eluding (felony), after he drove for several blocks without pulling over – from 29th Avenue and Miriam Street to 25th Avenue and 45th Street.
