It’s Friday, and the weekend’s just around the corner. If you’re still stumped on what to do, we’ve got some great ideas for both you or perhaps your family.

Why go: The neighbors of the 5600 block of Newton Avenue host this annual Christmas Walk and Bake Sale, featuring decorations that include scenes from classic Christmas movies, free crafts for kids, and visits from Santa and Mrs. Claus.
Price: Free. Please bring new and used toys and books to be collected for the Christmas Toy Workshop of St. Pete.
Free Family Movie Day
Where: Gulfport Public Library
When: Saturday, Dec. 17
Time: Movies begin at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
Why go: Free Family Movie Day: Starting at 11:00 am, The Grinch Who Stole Christmas [G]; 11:30am Rango [PG]; 2:00 pm Cowboys and Aliens [PG-13]. Enjoy with free popcorn provided by the Library! For more information call 893-1074.

Where: City of Imagination Gulfport Arts Center
When: Saturday, Dec. 17
Time: 3 - 6 p.m.
Why go: Bring a handmade ornament, a retired favorite, or a commercial one to exchange through the objectivity and magic of numbers, organizers say. (To compete for a prize, your ornament must be hand-crafted, though.)
Price: Free
Where: Clymer Park, Gulfport Blvd. & Beach Blvd.
When: Saturday, Dec. 17
Time: Registration at 3 p.m., Run at 4 p.m.
Why go: Wear a Speedo and Santa hat and run through downtown Gulfport. The one-mile run benefits AIDS Service Association of Pinellas, Inc. and the Brighter Seasons for Children program.
Why go: Take home a new piece of art, and marvel at the work of over 50 artists and crafters, as well as authors and entertainers stretched over a half-mile up and down scenic Beach Boulevard. Live musicians will be appearing at venues throughout the Village. Observe the talented artists at work all along Beach & Shore Boulevards.
