Gulfport Issues 'Boil Water' Notice, After Water Main Breaks

The city of Gulfport has issued a "precautionary" boil water notice for specific neighborhoods, after a water main ruptured on 58th Street South.

The boil notice is in effect for the recreation center and the Seaside Villa Apartments.

The city is advising residents in those areas not to use tap water for drinking, cooking or making ice. Boil water before brushing teeth or washing dishes. One minute is sufficient. An alternative is to use bottled water.

If residents live outside those areas and have questions about their water quality, please call the Public Works Department, 727-893-1089.
