Police: Carjacking Did Not Happen
St. Petersburg Police said a 51-year-old Gulfport man who died from injuries Monday was not the victim of a carjacking, as they originally reported.

Update, 5:30 p.m.: St. Petersburg police now say that 51-year-old Clinton Hattaway was not the victim of a carjacking.
New information, police say, suggests that Hattaway had a disagreement with another individual that escalated into deadly violence.
They now believe that Hattaway was the victim of an assault but that a carjacking did not take place. Police said that the Gulfport man had gone to the area of 22 Avenue South and 47 Street in his white pick-up truck to meet someone he knew.
