Ouch! Pet's Paws Blister in Summer Heat
Here are some Florida tips for walking safely with your pet.
Imagine walking barefoot on a hot sidewalk. Pets' paws are tougher than human feet, they can still get blisters on hot pavement or sand, especially with the summer heat.

- Avoid walking in the heat of the day
- Watch for surfaces with full exposure to the sun
- Take strolls in the early morning or in the evening
- Look for shady trails
- Walk on the grass
If your pet gets on a hot surface, look for "blisters, loose flaps of skin and red, ulcerated patches. For minor burns, apply antibacterial wash and cover the paw with a loose bandage. For serious burns, visit your vet immediately."
