Pedestrian Sent to Hospital After Crash

A Gulfport man is in critical condition at Bayfront Hospital after he was hit be a Chevrolet Tahoe while crossing a street Wednesday evening. 

According to Gulfport Police, at 9 p.m. Wednesday, they were called to 58th Street and 15th Avenue S.

Jay Bowman, according to the police report, was crossing 15th Avenue walking north from the southeast corner. While walking, he was struck by a truck that was traveling west.  

Police said according to witnesses at the scene, Bowman was at fault for the incident.

The driver of the truck, who was not injured, was not charged.
