Shots Fired in Gulfport Home Invasion Attempt
Three suspects tried to get into a resident's bedroom early Tuesday morning, according to Gulfport Police.

Gulfport Police are investigating an attempted home invasion robbery in which three men tried to enter a resident's bedroom early Tuesday morning.
The three suspects kicked in the front door of the home in the 5100 block of 16th Avenue South sometime around 12:55 a.m., according to a police spokesperson.
Once inside, gunshots were fired by the suspects, but the residents were already in a back bedroom and were unharmed, Sgt. Thomas Woodman said in a media release.

"The suspects attempted to gain entry into the bedroom but were unsuccessful and fled the scene on foot," Woodman said.
Neighbors told police they saw the three men running from the location. One of them was described as wearing a white tank top, baggy shorts and appeared to have dreadlocks, according to police.
