Storms Hold Out for a Successful Springfest

Although thunder and rain storms hit Beach Boulevard on Saturday, the afternoon downpour didn't last long. Shoppers and vendors were not affected too much by Mother Nature.

Springfest is an annual event hosted by the City of Gulfport and the . Every year,Β in late March or early April, Beach Boulevard shuts down so that vendorsΒ can line the streets and celebrate all that is spring.

This year, two stages of live music produced pricelessΒ entertainment. Local performers like , Paul Anthony and Jez Crew were a few of the intended performers.

Skies were bright at the start of the 18th Annual Springfest onΒ Saturday morning. By 1:30 p.m., chilly wind gusts indicated a storm was on the way. At around 2 in the afternoon, vendors started to close down and cover their spaces.

Within minutes, a downpour was in full effect.

Restaurants on Beach Boulevard felt the rush of traffic that was seeking shelter from the storm. and filled up during the unfavorable weather.

Fortunately, the rain lasted a little over an hour and guests were then able to enjoy the remainingΒ hours of Springfest.
