Tangelo's Veggie Burger Salad is as Good as it is Green

Brightly colored decorations emit a vivacious energy that is comparable to a beach lifestyle. Music hums through the air while quick, friendly service is at your fingertips.

After skimming the lunch menu a few times, I decided to go with the Jerk Veggie Burger Salad ($7.50). The veggie patties are prepared in-house, so it isn't that soy-wannabe-burger stuff. They are made with brown rice, black beans and jerk seasoning just before being deep fried. The patty is then laid atop a bed of greens, bell peppers, red onion, tomatoes and carrot sticks.

As if that didn't fill me up, the dish also came with a side of fresh, Cuban bread slices. A tropical, from scratch vinegarette dressing is served either on the salad or on the side.
