LifeSouth Adds Saturday Hours To Its Northeast Florida Donor Center
LifeSouth is currently in an emergency need for blood donors, with less than a two-day supply of blood available to help local patients.

WHAT: Starting on July 17, LifeSouth Community Blood Centers is adding Saturday hours to its weekly schedule at its Northeast Florida donor center.

Due to an increased need for blood to support the organization’s local hospital partners in Northeast Florida, the extra hours will accommodate those who may be unable to donate during the work week. LifeSouth is currently in an emergency need for blood donors, with less than a two-day supply of blood available to help local patients. The nonprofit community blood bank, like many around the nation, has an ongoing need for blood donations of all types as local and national blood supplies are at emergency levels.

WHY: LifeSouth is the blood provider for various hospitals throughout the region, including Baptist Health, Wolfson Children’s Hospital, Memorial Hospital and Orange Park Medical Center. The nonprofit blood bank, like many throughout the nation, continues to see a pressing need for blood donations of all types. The extended hours at the Northeast Florida donor center provides more opportunities for residents of Jacksonville and its surrounding communities to donate blood and save local livesAdvance coordination and approval is required for on-site interviews to ensure source availability and social distancing at LifeSouth’s donor center.
