Osceola County approves AdventHealth hospital at NeoCity (fox35orlando.com) — Osceola County has approved a deal for AdventHealth to build a major new hospital campus at NeoCity, just off U.S. 192 between Kissimmee and St. Cloud. The project will start with at least 80 beds, expandable to 200, bringing high-paying jobs and expanded medical options that complement existing AdventHealth hospitals in Kissimmee and Celebration.
   

2. Pro wrestling star Alex Hammerstone focuses on winning MLW's Battle Riot as he fights through scrutiny (foxwilmington.com) — Kissimmee wrestling fans can look ahead to MLW’s Battle Riot VIII at Osceola Heritage Park on January 29, where Alex Hammerstone aims to become a two-time winner. In a Fox News interview, he reflects on his return to MLW, overcoming injuries, and his drive to challenge for the world heavyweight title again.
   

3. Trial begins for Alex Lopez, accused of killing Port St. Lucie store owner (wpbf.com) — A man accused in a deadly convenience store shooting in Leesburg was tracked down and taken into custody in the Kissimmee area by state investigators last year. Jurors are now hearing how surveillance video captured the attack that killed Port St. Lucie store owner Raied Shihadeh. The outcome of this Central Florida trial could bring closure to a case that briefly focused law enforcement attention on Kissimmee.
   

4. Ben Crump secures settlement after Universal rollercoaster death (tallahassee.com) — A Kissimmee man, Kevin Rodriguez Zavala, died after riding the Stardust Racers roller coaster at Universal’s new Epic Universe park, and his family has now reached a confidential settlement with the company. Investigators ruled the death an accident and found the ride functioned properly, but Universal says it is updating procedures and signage while the family asks for privacy.
   

5. Report: Ocala ranks 2nd most popular destination to move to nationally (wcjb.com) — Kissimmee ranks 10th nationally among cities people are moving to, with 176 new arrivals for every 100 departures, according to a new Move Buddha analysis. While Ocala and The Villages lead Florida’s in‑migration boom, Kissimmee’s strong showing highlights continuing population growth that can affect housing demand, traffic, and local services for current residents.
