• Woman who drank Merlot at Applebee's arrested after crash in The Villages (villages-news.com) — Lady Lake police arrested a 69-year-old Ocala woman after she allegedly left a crash in The Villages and was later found showing signs of impairment behind a 7-Eleven. Officers say she admitted drinking Merlot at a nearby Applebee’s, failed field sobriety exercises, and recorded a high blood alcohol level before being taken to Lake County Jail.

• Tragedy On SR-44 In Sumter County: Wildwood Teen Killed Crossing Highway (tampafp.com) — A 16-year-old Wildwood boy was killed Tuesday night while crossing State Road 44 in Sumter County when he was struck by a pickup driven by a 21-year-old man from Lady Lake. Troopers say the eastbound driver could not avoid the teen, who died at the scene.
