15-Year-Old Girl In Critical Condition After Being Struck By Box Truck
The 15-year-old was walking with a group of teens to the Davenport School of the Arts when she was struck by a box truck.

DAVENPORT, FL â A 15-year-old girl has life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing County Road 547 with other teens.
According to the Polk County Sheriff's Office, at 6:45 a.m. Tuesday, the Polk County Sheriff's Office and Polk Fire Rescue were dispatched to a traffic crash at CR 547 North and Sophie Lane, just north of the Davenport School of the Arts in Davenport.
Deputies said the girl was walking in a marked crosswalk with other teens with northbound traffic on CR 547 stopped and no traffic in the southbound lane. There are no lights at the intersection.

The 15-year-old was the last person in the group to cross the road. When she was in the marked crosswalk, a box truck traveling south struck the teen. The driver of the truck stopped and is cooperating with deputies.
The teen was airlifted to a hospital where she remains in critical condition.
