2 Rescued When Dinghy Capsizes Near Haulover

Two people were rescued Wednesday when their dinghy capsized near Haulover Park.

MIAMI, FL -- Two people were rescued Wednesday when their dinghy capsized near Haulover Park.

The incident happened shortly after 1 p.m., according to a spokesperson for Miami-Dade Fire Rescue.

"Miami-Dade Fireboat 21 along with Miami-Dade Ocean Rescue assisted two people back to their sailboat that was anchored off shore near Haulover Beach," the spokesperson said. "Due to the rough seas, their dinghy capsized while making their way back to the sailboat."

Ocean Rescue used a personal watercraft to transfer the boaters back onto their sailboat from the Fireboat.

"Miami-Dade Fire Rescue reminds everyone to check marine conditions before heading out on the water," the agency spokesperson added.
