LAKELAND, FL — A 36-year-old woman was killed and another wounded Thursday after the two women allegedly forced their way into a home along Jewel Avenue and confronted a couple inside, according to the Lakeland Police Department.

Police said the argument quickly escalated into a physical altercation involving the man, Crumb-Guy and Marshall.

"As the male attempted to retreat to another area, Crumb-Guy armed herself with a knife and blocked his path," Lakeland police said. "Fearing for the man’s life, the female resident produced a handgun and fired a warning shot."
