25-Year-Old Man Accused Of Leaving Lakeland Crash Scene
A 25-year-old man was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving injury and other offenses following a Lakeland crash.

LAKELAND, FL -- A 25-year-old man was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving injury, driving under the influence with property damage and other offenses after allegedly crashing into two vehicles in Lakeland.
The incident happened about 1 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office. The sheriff's office said Juan Doblado-Guttierez had nearly three times the legal blood alcohol level when he was taken into custody.
Doblado-Guttierez allegedly left the scene of the crash at U.S. 98 and Innovation Drive without stopping.

"The crash sent one person to the hospital," the sheriff's office said.
Doblado-Guttierez was also charged with driving without a valid driver's license and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage.

"An observant deputy noticed Doblado’s car with significant front end damage turning onto Combee Road from US 98 and stopped the vehicle on Commerce Point Drive about two miles north of the crash," the sheriff's office explained.
"The deputy determined Doblado-Guttierez was under the influence of alcohol after he failed a sobriety test," the sheriff's office added, noting that Doblado-Guttierez did not have a valid Florida driver’s license.
“As drivers we have a fundamental moral obligation to stop if involved in a crash and render aid to those injured. We also are legally and morally required to have a valid license," asserted Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd. "Doblado-Guttierez didn’t do or have any of these things. He got drunk, decided to drive, and caused a crash that hurt others and caused thousands of dollars of damage."
The sheriff's office said Doblado-Guttierez was being held at the Polk County Jail on a $2,000 bond.
