3 Shooting Suspects Face Charges After Crime Spree: Sheriff

POLK COUNTY, FL — Three suspects accused of being involved in a shooting at a Lakeland Circle K on Tuesday are behind bars as of Wednesday, Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

Gadell Young, Jr., 42, William Kirkland, 37, and Seth Deming, 38, were arrested on armed burglary and other charges after a 24-hour violent crime spree came to an end on Wednesday, deputies said.

According to investigators, the three suspects were captured on surveillance video Monday at the Circle K, 933 West Pipkin Road, stopping at a gas pump in a black GMC SUV. Young pumped gas while the two other men went inside the store. After they came out of the store, Deming allegedly shot a victim who walked across the parking lot, detectives said. Deming and the two other suspects got back into the SUV and drove away.

Authorities said the crime spree continued into Tuesday as the three men went inside a home near Old Harden Boulevard and allegedly threatened to shoot a family inside the house. The suspects are accused of forcing the man, woman, and child outside at gunpoint.

Young and Kirkland threw belongings of the family's out into the yard when deputies arrived, officials said. Deming had left the house before authorities arrived. Young and Kirkland were arrested on multiple charges, according to deputies. Deming was pulled over Wednesday driving the black GMC, and the Polk County Sheriff's Office filed multiple charges on him.

According to a police news release, the suspects face the following charges:

• Seth Deming of Bartow, armed burglary with battery, attempted first-degree murder, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, aggravated assault with a law enforcement officer, wearing a bulletproof vest
• William Kirkland of Lakeland, armed burglary with battery, grand theft
• Gardell Young, Jr., of Bartow, armed burglary with battery, grand theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of paraphernalia
