Anti-Abortion Protesters Insult Patient, Ignore Police: Report
A few anti-abortion protesters gathered outside Lakeland's abortion clinic Friday after the U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade.
LAKELAND, FL — Two anti-abortion protesters were cited by police at a protest outside Lakeland's only abortion clinic Friday, the Ledger reported. A small protest was held at the Lakeland Women's Health Center shortly after the U.S. Supreme Court ruled to overturn Roe v. Wade on Friday.
One of the protesters, Quentin Deckard of Seffner, yelled insults through a megaphone at a Black woman walking to the clinic's entrance, including "Black lives don't matter," the outlet reported from a police report. Deckard faces a noise violation charge.
Angela Delauney of Mulberry and her husband, Gregory Delauney, attached signs to a nearby power pole, which police asked her to remove. The paper said Angela Delauney refused to take down the signs and she is accused of resisting arrest.
