BARTOW — A 24-hour road construction project will begin Friday morning in Bartow on Old Kissimmee Road, a Polk County news release said.

Old Kissimmee Road will be closed just north of County Road-54 while crews install a sewer service to the new Mater Academy Charter School being built in Davenport-Loughman, county staff said.

Traffic will detour along U.S. Highway 17-92 and Labor Camp Road to bypass the work zone. Drivers can still expect minor delays.
