Bicyclist Killed On Winter Haven Street: Troopers

POLK COUNTY, FL — A 53-year-old Winter Haven bicyclist died when he was hit by a car on Seventh Street Southwest in Polk County Wednesday night, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

A 36-year-old Winter Haven woman drove her car southbound on Seventh Street Southwest as the bicyclist rode ahead. The car ran into the back of the bicyclist at about 6:44 p.m. just north of Avenue R SW, investigators said. The victim was pronounced dead at the crash location.
