Body Found Floating In Mulberry Pond

The discovery of a man's body in a Mulberry retention pond Tuesday is under investigation by the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

MULBERRY, FL — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the death of a man whose body was found Tuesday in a Mulberry retention pond.

According to the agency, deputies were called out to a pond near Imperial Parkway just before 11 a.m. May 16 after receiving a 911 call. A person was fishing in the pond when the man’s body was seen floating near the shore, the sheriff’s office said.

When deputies arrived, they found an adult white male with brown hair deceased, an email from the sheriff's office said. The man was wearing a Florida Gators jersey and black-and-orange swim trunks. The man also had multiple tattoos on his arm, hand, chest and knees, authorities say.

The man has not been identified as of yet. A cause of death also has not been announced.
