Davenport Man Killed Crossing U.S. 27 In Polk County

POLK COUNTY, FL — A 32-Davenport man has died after being struck by a car early Tuesday morning.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, at 5:40 a.m. a 24-year-old Winter Haven man was driving north on U.S. 27 south of South Boulevard West when the pedestrian attempted to cross the highway and entered the car's path.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.
