Father Shot And Killed In Lakeland After Dropping Off Child
A 21-year-old father was shot and killed Monday after dropping off his three-year-old son with the child's mother.

LAKELAND, FL -- A 21-year-old father was shot and killed Monday after dropping off his three-year-old son with the child's mother. The shooting occurred around 8:27 p.m. in the 1100 block of Jewel Avenue, according to Lakeland police.
"Officers were informed that a person has been shot and taken by family member to Lakeland Regional Health where he later died at 8:48 p.m.," explained Gary Gross of the Lakeland Police Department.
The victim was identified as Jabray R. Chisolm, who shared custody with the child's mother.

"Chisolm became involved in a confrontation, which initially was verbal and then became physical, with several other identified black males who were at the scene," Gross said. "At some point during the physical altercation Chisolm was shot."
Gross said that Lakeland detectives have been interviewing witnesses and pursuing leads.
