Florida Motorist Claims She Was Planning To Get License
A Florida woman who was pulled over for speeding told a Polk County sheriff's deputy that she was planning to get her driver's license.

EAGLE LAKE, FL — A Florida woman who was pulled over for speeding told a Polk County sheriff's deputy that she was planning to get her driver's license but just hadn't gotten around to it.
"Oh, in that case, you're free to go.' said the deputy," according to Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd, who posted the incident on the agency's social media account Wednesday.
"Just kidding. She was arrested," the sheriff quipped.

Nineteen-year-old Skylynn Leyva was cited for driving without a valid driver's license and speeding.
The encounter happened around 2:05 a.m. Monday morning . Arrest documents said Leyva was clocked doing 36 mph in a 25 mph zone along Eagle Avenue near 4th Street.

A 16-year-old boy who was in the Gold Chevrolet Malibu was charged with giving police a false name and violating the terms of his probation, which included a curfew. Another passenger in the car was not charged.
The Malibu belongs to Leyva's mother, according to the sheriff's office.
"In fact, she claimed that this was her very first time driving, and that she planned on getting her license this week," the sheriff's office added.
