Gas Leak Reported In Polk County

Residents in one area of Polk County were asked to remain indoors Tuesday as workers were called out to fix a gas leak.

WINTER HAVEN, FL — Residents in one area of Polk County were asked to remain indoors Tuesday as workers were called out to fix a gas leak.

"Residents in the area of Crossroads Boulevard just off Crump Road near Country Club Road are asked to stay inside of their homes due to a gas leak in the area of 1810 Crossroads Boulevard," according to the Winter Haven Police Department.

A crew from Central Florida Gas was called out to repair the leak. Police issued an advisory to area residents shortly after 11 a.m.

"Right now, roadways in the area are shut down out of an abundance of caution," said Jamie Brown of the Winter Haven Police Department.
