Armando De Dios Cruz was driving his 6-year-old and 13-year-old stepdaughters when he ran a red light and was hit by another vehicle, police said.

When the vehicle crashed and rolled over, the 6-year-old was ejected. Police said Cruz fled the scene without checking on the welfare of the children. The driver of the vehicle he hit sustained a broken wrist. Neither child suffered serious injuries.
