Hit-And-Run Driver Who Killed Woman On CR 547 Sought By Sheriff

The Polk sheriff's office is investigating a hit-and-run crash that took the life of a woman during the early morning hours of Thursday.

DAVENPORT, FL — The Polk County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Homicide Unit is investigating a hit-and-run crash that took the life of a woman during the early morning hours of Thursday.

Around 2:20 a.m., two witnesses saw a white Ford truck, possibly a Super Duty model, strike the woman who was walking along the side of County Road 547 about an eighth of a mile north of Crescent Valley Ranch Road. The truck was heading south, and fled the scene.

Investigators said the truck most likely has damage on the front bumper and possibly the grill and the hood.
