Hospital Employee Accused Of Sexually Assaulting Patient: Police

An investigation by the Lakeland Police Department discovered the patient was sexually assaulted inside the elevator.

LAKELAND, FL — A Lakeland Regional Health employee is accused of sexually assaulting a patient on Friday night, a police news release said.

A police officer with the Lakeland Police Department who worked an extra duty detail shift at the hospital on Friday was informed by hospital security of the incident. Investigators said 21-year-old Jordan Robert James sexually assaulted an 82-year-old woman in an elevator who was being taken to another floor for testing.

Detectives arrested James on charges of aggravated sexual battery and false imprisonment.
