Illegal Drugs, Guns Taken Off Streets During Lakeland Police Sting

A Lakeland police initiative took drugs and 18 guns off the streets.

LAKELAND, FL — Over the past several weeks, Lakeland police officers and detectives conducted a proactive initiative focused on the most dangerous elements in the community: illegal firearms and drugs.

The initiative resulted in 35 arrests for crimes including possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm by a delinquent felon, carrying a concealed firearm, cocaine possession, fentanyl possession, methamphetamine possession, oxycodone possession, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and various arrest warrants.

Additionally, 18 firearms were seized during the operation.
