LAKELAND, FL -- School bells will soon be ringing for the littlest Polk County residents as kindergarten registration begins April 1 for new pupils in the 2019-2020 school year. The registration period ends on April 29.

"Parents and guardians should register their child as soon as possible once this registration period begins to ensure that their kindergartner gets a seat at his or her zoned school," said a district spokesperson.

Polk schools will designate a time for parents to visit and tour schools on April 25.
