Lakeland Fire Department Starts Season Of Giving

The Lakeland Fire Department is beginning its annual toy drive for area children.

LAKELAND, FL – The Lakeland Fire Department is set to begin its Season of Giving to provide happy holidays for the area’s children in need.

The fire department will kick off its annual toy drive on Wednesday, Nov. 8 and will run through Friday, Dec. 15. Members of the community can drop off new, unwrapped toys at the following locations:

  • LFD Station 1, 701 E. Main St.
  • LFD Station 2, 2104 S. Florida Ave.
  • LFD Station 3, 110 W. Bella Vista
  • LFD Station 4, 215 Brunnell Parkway
  • LFD Station 5, 3101 Lakeland Highlands Road
  • LFD Station 6, 5050 State Road 33 N.
  • LFD Station 7, 3150 Drane Field Road
  • LFD Administration Building, 701 E. Main St.
  • Lakeland City Hall, 228 S. Massachusetts Ave.

This is the fifth year in a row the Lakeland Fire Department has sponsored the toy drive. The drive will benefit the Children’s Home Society of Greater Lakeland and the Dream Center of Lakeland. The two organizations will distribute the toys to needy children in Lakeland.

“Out of the many events our department sponsors and participates, this is one we all look forward to every year,” said Lakeland Fire Chief Gary Ballard. “The holidays are a time to reflect on our blessings and to give back to those in need. This annual toy drive helps hundreds of children in Lakeland by allowing them to enjoy the holidays by knowing that they are cared for by their community.”
