Lakeland Man Arrested In Undercover Sex Sting

A 60-year-old Lakeland man was arrested in an undercover sex sting at Saddle Creek Park and Gator Creek Preserve, according to police.

LAKELAND, FL -- A 60-year-old Lakeland man was arrested Thursday in an undercover sex sting at Saddle Creek Park and Gator Creek Preserve, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

John Paul Jensen was charged with one count exposure of sex organs and one count offering to commit lewdness. The sheriff's office said Jensen was also issued a trespass from all county parks.

A spokesperson for the sheriff's office said neighbors complained about suspicious activity in the area.

Jensen is accused of exposing himself and soliciting sex from an undercover male detective. "He told detectives he goes to local parks to meet men," according to the spokesperson.

Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said his office plans to continue similar operations in the future.

"Parks are places where families go to enjoy the great outdoors, not to be exposed to this type of illegal behavior," Judd added.
