Lakeland Man Critically Injured In Scooter Crash
A 28-year-old Lakeland man suffered critical injuries in a single-vehicle crash Thursday morning.

LAKELAND, FL — A single scooter crash on County Line Road Thursday morning has left a Lakeland man critically injured.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Gershom Wayne Jones, 28, was heading south on County Line Road, south of Ralston Road, around 1 a.m. Jan. 5 on a scooter. Jones’ scooter struck a curb on the left shoulder, a highway patrol report said. Jones was thrown from the scooter as a result.
Troopers say Jones was taken to a local hospital for treatment.

The crash is not alcohol related, the agency noted. Jones was wearing a helmet.
No charges are anticipated and further details are not being released at this time.
