Lakeland Motorcyclist Killed In Single Vehicle Crash: Police
Authorities closed East Edgewood Drive for several hours Saturday night as detectives investigated a fatal motorcycle crash.
LAKELAND, FL — A 45-year-old motorcyclist died Saturday night after he lost control of his motorycle and hit a tree in Lakeland on East Edgewood Drive, Lakeland police said.
Michael Andre Molinaro of Lakeland drove a 2007 Suzuki GSXR westbound on East Edgewood Drive just before 11:55 p.m. when authorities said the driver lost control of the vehicle as he tried to make a left turn onto Lakeland Highlands Road. The bike crossed all lanes, hit a curb and crashed into a tree, according to investigators.
Polk County Fire Rescue and the Lakeland Fire Department pronounced Molinaro dead at the crash location.

The roadway was closed for approximately four hours while the scene was processed for the ongoing investigation, deputies said.
