Lakeland Police Department To Host 12th Annual Open House
The event features free food, demonstrations, activities and entertainment.

LAKELAND, FL – The Lakeland Police Department is inviting the public out for a good time – and also learn a few things about the department as well.
The 12th Annual Lakeland Police Department Open House is scheduled to take place Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their headquarters, 219 N. Massachusetts Ave. This free family event gives area residents the opportunity to go behind the scenes with members of the police department.
The theme of this year’s open house is “See Something. Say Something.”

During the event, participants will be able to meet members of the SWAT team, look inside the department’s mobile command center, see an armored rescue vehicle up close and watch the K-9 team in action.
The event will also feature tours of the police station from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Visitors will see the Crime Lab, Communications Center and the Emergency Operations Center.

The Community Services Unit is scheduled to host bicycle helmet fittings and give away free helmets to children. There will also be other children’s activities, live entertainment and free hotdogs and popcorn while supplies last.
