AUBURNDALE, FL — A 37-year-old Auburndale man confessed to his mother Saturday night that he had just killed his girlfriend, Polk County Sheriff's Office said.

Jason Robinson's mom called the Auburndale Police Department at about 8:30 p.m. to report what he told her. Polk County Sheriff's Office checked for the girlfriend's body at the couple's RV on U.S. Highway 98 North near Keen Road in unincorporated Auburndale.

Robinson was arrested on a give false ID to law enforcement officer charge shortly after a deputy arrived and asked him to identify himself. A fake name and false date of birth was given to the officer. As the deputy tried to put Robinson in handcuffs, he is accused of attacking him. During the scuffle, Robinson allegedly choked the deputy. Two people saw the commotion and helped the officer escape his grip, according to investigators. He then placed him in handcuffs. Robinson is also accused of taking the officer's radio and Taser during the attack.
