Man Stabbed To Death In Argument At Poinciana House: Sheriff

"This was a tragic and senseless murder," Sheriff Grady Judd said. "...All he had to do was leave the home." Suspect said he was on drugs.

POINCIANA, FL — An argument at a home in Poinciana Wednesday evening led to the stabbing death of the man who lived at the house, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Office.

Frankie Alvarado, 31, of Kissimmee faces charges of second degree murder along with other charges, detectives said. Alvarado got into an argument with a witness just before 7 p.m. Wednesday. The witness told the suspect to leave. Alvarado refused and continued to argue with the witness as the victim packed his bag to have ready for when he left. A baseball bat was picked up by the victim for protection as the other two continued the argument, investigators said.

Eventually Alvarado walked outside the house, but decided he wanted to fight, and began banging on the door. The victim opened the door and Alvarado said he wanted to fight him. The suspect told authorities that the victim hit him with a bat, and then he stabbed him in return several times with a switchblade knife. The victim then died at the house, deputies said. Alvarado ran away and said he took the baseball bat and threw it away. He also told police that he dropped the knife somewhere.
