North Galloway, Sleepy Hills Roads To Remain Close For Another Week
Lakeland Electric is installing power service to a temporary lighting system at the new roundabout, which is now scheduled to open Friday.

POLK COUNTY, FL — The intersection of North Galloway Road and Sleepy Hill Road will remain closed for another week as Lakeland Electric installs power service to a temporary lighting system at the new roundabout, which is now scheduled to open Friday, Sept. 23.
Installation of the permanent lighting system is pending the fabrication and delivery of aluminum poles that have been delayed by supply-chain issues.
Depending on the destination, westbound traffic on Sleepy Hill Road will detour north or south at Kathleen Road to bypass the work zone, while northbound traffic along North Galloway Road will detour at Knights Station Road and southbound traffic will be redirected to Kathleen Road to avoid closure.
