A 67-Year-Old Man Accused Of Wanting Sex Services Shows Up To Venue Drinking Ensure

"Operation March Sadness," conducted by the Polk County Sheriff's Office, identified victims who were being sexually exploited.

POLK COUNTY, FL — Polk County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested 108 people during a six-day human trafficking campaign, "Operation March Sadness 2," a sheriff's office news release said.

Thirty-two-year-old Tiffany Nash of Orlando is accused of trafficking another woman into prostitution. During undercover operations, the victim showed up at the house deputies were using as part of the sting. Investigators discovered Nash threatened to harm the victim if she didn't prostitute herself, deputies said.

According to detectives, Nash is accused of taking all the victim's money she had been given for prostitution services. Deputies arrested Nash at the house when she showed up to check on the victim.

Out of the 108 suspects arrested during the operation, 67-year-old Derek Collins who is accused of wanting services by a prostitute arrived at the house drinking an Ensure, deputies said.

The youngest suspect nabbed in the six-day campaign was a 17-year-old male, who faces charges of soliciting for a prostitute, the sheriff's office said.

Four suspects are accused of attempting to have sex with children, detectives said.

"Operation March Sadness 2" began March 8. The Polk County Sheriff's Office received assistance from police agencies in Winter Haven, Haines City, Lake Wales, and Auburndale, as well as the Office of the State Attorney 10th Judicial Court, members from the Florida Department of Children and Families (DCF), and anti-human trafficking organizations: One More Child, Heartland for Children, and Selah Freedom of Sarasota.

Detectives identified prostitutes who posted online advertisements as well as people who sought prostitution services online.

Undercover detectives communicated online with the suspects and arranged for a meetup at a location where they were arrested after their arrival, investigators said.

Members of the anti-trafficking organizations were on hand to speak with the prostitutes to help determine if they were human trafficking victims—they were offered services and counseling, according to deputies.

“The arrests of a human trafficker and four child predators alone makes this whole operation worthwhile," Sheriff Grady Judd said. "The online prostitution industry enables traffickers and victimizes those who are being trafficked. Our goal is to identify victims, offer them help, and find and arrest those who are profiting from the exploitation of human beings. Johns fuel trafficking and victimization. Where there is prostitution, there is exploitation, disease, dysfunction, and broken families.”
