Pedestrian Injured, Winter Haven Patrol Car Hit Them Early Tuesday Morning

WINTER HAVEN, FL — Polk County Sheriff's Office is investigating a crash Tuesday morning when a Winter Haven police officer hit a pedestrian with their cruiser at about 6 a.m. on Cypress Boulevard near LEGOLAND, Winter Haven Police said.

The victim experienced injuries, and officials last reported that they were receiving treatment at a local hospital.

Eastbound lanes of Cypress Boulevard were closed throughout the morning for the investigation.

Eastbound Cypress Gardens Blvd at the Legoland entrance is shut down because of a crash involving a police cruiser, according to WTVT.

Drivers should avoid the area and take alternate routes, Winter Have Police tweeted.
