Polk County Elections Supervisor Holds Voter Registration Events Across County

The Polk County Elections Supervisor is holding 11 voter registration events in the county on Tuesday.

LAKELAND - As part of National Voter Registration Day on Tuesday, the Polk County Supervisor of Elections has scheduled 11 voter registration events throughout the county. Current voters also can update their information, such as address or party affiliation. The deadline to register for city elections in Lakeland, Auburndale and Winter Haven is Oct. 10.

Eight organizations will be joining the Supervisor of Elections in conducting the events. Those organizations are: The League of Women Voters of Polk County, NAACP Lake Wales Branch, NAACP Haines City Branch, Young American Dreamers, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Omicron Kappa Omega Chapter, Lakeland Alumnae Chapter DST, and Hispanic American Cultural, Educational and Recreational Club of Poinciana.

Voter registration services will be from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Larry R. Jackson Library in Lakeland, 1700 N. Florida Ave.; Ace Hardware, 211 Commonwealth Ave., N.; North Ridge tax collector’s office, 2000 Deer Creek Road in Davenport; Fort Meade City Hall, 8 W. Broadway St.; and the Gill Jones NE Government Center, 3425 Lake Alfred Road in Winter Haven.

From 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., registration services will be at the Lakeland E-Library, 4740 S. Florida Ave.; Poinciana Community Center, 395 Marigold Ave.; Auburndale Public Library, 100 W. Bridgers Ave.; Lake Wales Tax Collector’s Office, 658 State Road 60; Mulberry Public Library, 905 N.E. Fifth St.; and the Winter Haven Public Library, 325 Ave. A, N.W.
