State's Top High School Player Has Third All-Time Record In Polk County: Report
A Lake Gibson Alumni who made football history in Polk County received the 2021 Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Football title Monday.
POLK COUNTY, FL — A December graduate of Lake Gibson High School, Jaylon Glover, who led Polk County by rushing 2,377 yards, 29 touchdowns and 312 carries this season, was named 2021 Florida Dairy Farmers Mr. Football Monday, The Ledger reported.
Glover graduated early from high school and just started his first semester at the University of Utah. He was also named the Class 7A player of the year, the news outlet reported. He also has the third all-time record in Polk County with 6,400 yards rushing, and 83 touchdowns. This title is given to the state's top football player.
"Like I've said, the accolades will come to you with team success," Glover told the paper. "I was just trying to win games...It's a great honor."
